  • AttendANce - IMPORTANT

    Published 13/03/24

Every school has a legal responsibility to promote good attendance. Put simply, poor attendance means it is very unlikely a child will achieve well.

When a pupil’s attendance is very poor, a fine may be issued through Notts County Council. By Easter, it is likely they will have issued 20 fines to parents at KPNS.

Ideally, every child has attendance over 95% - giving them the best chance of keeping up with their learning. We normally consider below 90% as poor attendance.

    The impact of poor attendance:

Please come and talk to Mrs Garner if we can help you with anything linked to school attendance.

  • New School Cladding!

    Published 08/03/24

We are very excited to confirm that the project to replace all exterior cladding at KPNS is due to start later this year. The project will also ensure the building is properly insulated, keeping it warm in winter and cool in summer. In recent years, we have also had a new roof and completely replaced the heating system - the cladding project will ensure the building is fit for purpose for decades to come!

The pictures in this blog post are just ideas of what the school might eventually look like - architects have not yet finalised the design, including the colour scheme.

As part of the final design process, the architects will give a presentation to a selection of parents, staff and governors on 26th March at 3.40pm. This will be a chance for them to hear the views and thoughts of adults associated with our school.

If you would like to attend the presentation, please complete the form below.  We may receive too many responses (and can't fit everyone in!) - as such, we will notify a selection of parents closer to the date of the meeting.

KPNS belongs to the whole community, so we are very keen to hear a range of views.

    Thanks

    Mr Cresswell

This week, children and teachers will be thinking about esafety, especially safe use of the internet, as part of the national ‘Safer Internet Day 2024’.

We know that internet can be a source of wonder, joy and useful information. Very sadly, we also know that some children can be exposed to very harmful content on the internet, as well as meeting people who use the internet to groom and harm children.

Please use the information below to ensure you have all the information you need to help keep your child safe:

    1. Tips, advice, guides and resources to help keep your child safe online when they are using a range of different internet connected devices. – access the ‘saferinternet.org’ website using this link.
    2. Read the ‘Top Tips’ below for parents and children.
    3. Share the ‘Digital Leaders’ magazines below, written by pupils across ‘Equals Trust’ for children in Years 3,4,5 and 6.
    4. Talk to your child about what has been discussed in class and assemblies this week.
