Who Wants To Be An MP?!

Our local MP, Kenneth Clarke visited us in school on Monday 8th July!

The children in Year 3 have been really enthusiastic when learning about democracy so we invited in Ken Clarke to talk with the children about his role. The children found out that he loves his job despite it being a tough one! They asked about the Conservative Party's leadership contest and asked him about which friends he has at Westminster. They were surprised that he is friends with MPs from other political parties! Mr Clarke then spent some time with the School Council, two of whom visited The Houses Of Parliament recently. They asked lots of good questions about the EU and he talked to them about his feelings about what is currently happening at Westminster. As always, our children were impeccably behaved and listened really carefully. Perhaps we have a future Prime Minister here at Keyworth Primary?
