Following the success of a two-year collaboration agreement, a decision was made during the 2017 Summer term to formalise the strong relationship between Crossdale and Keyworth Primary schools. It was unanimously agreed by each governing body to merge and create a new Joint Local Governing Body (JLGB) that is responsible for overseeing both schools.

We are delighted to have a strong team of governors that have a wide range of skills and experience between them. Each governor has been assigned roles with key responsibilities based on their personal expertise and governor training. This ensures that all aspects of each school are scrutinised effectively in accordance with the Equals Trust guidelines (see the ‘About Us’ section here). The JLGB meets twice a term and each governor has a vote (except Associate Governors). There are no committees with delegated powers and all decisions are approved by the JLGB. Details of the appointed governors are as follows:

NOTE:

· Trust Governors are appointed by the Equals Trust and are either ex-parents of the two schools or community members with a particular expertise.

· The number of Trust Governors is equal to the number of Staff and Parent Governors combined to ensure equal representation across interested stakeholders.

· We have a number of Associate Governors who offer additional support and expertise to the function of the Governing Body, but without voting rights. These currently consist of staff members, ex-governors from the individual schools and community members.

Please see attached register of business interests, including governor attendance record.

If you have any questions regarding governance or becoming a governor please don’t hesitate to contact us through the school office. Ian Walker, the chair of the governing body, can be contacted through the school office.
